Financial Assistance

Admissions Process:

Initially, parents visit The Bala House to determine if this is an environment that they would like for their child. If a child is placed on our waiting list and there is a place available, we schedule a visit for the child.

At that time, it may be appropriate to issue a contract with the desired schedule.

Minimum age at admission in September: 2 years and 9 months (child will turn 3 years old on or before December 1st of that current school year).

Rolling Admissions occurring after December 1st: Child will be at least three years old at admission date.

Special Consideration: Parents of children who enter The Bala House mid-year must be notified that this does not signify early admission to kindergarten. Kindergarten admission is based on a child having a 5th birthday by September 1st of the kindergarten year and receiving the recommendation of the kindergarten teacher(s).

Payment Process:

A $50 application fee is require to place a child's name on our waiting list. Thereafter, a non-refundable $250 deposit is required to hold a child's place in our school when the school contract is signed.

The regular payment plan is spread over nine installments, with the first payment of $1,000 plus the activity fee due June 15th. Eight (8) equal payments will be due on the first of each month from September through April. Late fees, as explained in the Parent Handbook, will be assessed after the fifth day of each month.

Financial Assistance:

Financial assistance is available to qualifying families. The financial assistance forms will be mailed upon request. The Bala House parents, Board of Trustees and friends donate to our financial assistance fund. In 2006-2007 $20,000 was awarded to 9 families.
