Support for the New Bala House

In the summer of 2008, The Bala House will expand its facilities and break ground on the new Edith C. Aherne Wing. The new building will result in a physical environment equivalent to the first-rate Montessori education we provide and is absolutely vital to sustaining the future of The Bala House. In addition to funds already committed, we are seeking to raise an additional $350,000 over the next several years to support the financing, construction and operation of the building.

The Future of The Bala House is Ours

Over the past 35 years The Bala House has educated an entire generation of young children. They and their families have benefited from the school’s outstanding Montessori approach, its commitment to the uniqueness of each child, and its dedicated parent community. The Bala House’s current space has long limited our ability to do what we do best --provide a rich, nurturing classroom environment for young children. Parents and children have always recognized the unique offerings of The Bala House—children remember peaceful, diverse classroom settings led by exceptional staff; parents cherish the community spirit and beautiful campus at St. Asaphs. The Bala House is dedicated to educating the whole child, from its Montessori curriculum to its integrated approach to language, movement, music, and art. Expanding our facility now is key to the future of The Bala House and, more importantly, to the coming generations of children who will experience this exceptional early education experience.

Families and Friends Will Lead This Legacy

The new building will cost approximately $2.3 million—our goal is to raise $100,000 in leadership donations and pledges by June, 2008. These gifts will form the foundation for a broader fundraising effort that will secure the school’s future. Due to the amazing generosity of families both past and present, The Bala House currently has over $1,000,000 to allocate to the project. In addition, as part of our partnership and long-term commitment, The Church of St. Asaph is contributing $500,000 dollars from their endowment and we have been approved for a business loan for construction. A new home for The Bala House is within reach—your contribution could make all the difference now.
